Capriati had too much power
|
Jennifer Capriati reached her first final in four months with a straight-sets victory over qualifier Maria Vento-Kabchi.
The number three seed brought the Venezuelan veteran's impressive week to an end with a 6-4 6-4 victory.
Capriati will play Kim Clijsters in her second final of the year after the number two seed beat Italian Francesca Schiavone 6-3 6-2 in the other second final.
"I'm not going to think that this is a final and my big
chance and put pressure on myself," Capriati said.

I didn't play that well but sometimes it's good to win when you aren't on top of your game
|
"I just have to go out and play the tennis I've been playing."
Capriati, whose last title came 18 months ago at the 2002 Australian Open, won despite six double faults and 30 unforced errors.
"Hopefully for tomorrow I got my mistakes out the way," she added. "Kim's just too good of a player and she would take advantage of that."
Capriati broke Vento-Kabchi's serve three times in the first
set and twice more in the second to win in an hour and 15 minutes.
The American has won three out of her four meetings with Clijsters, with all but one match going to three sets.
"We always kind of bring the best out of each other," Capriati added.
