Ferrer claims shock win
David Ferrer 6-3 6-2 Jose Acasuso
The 20-year-old unseeded Spaniard beat the Argentine fifth seed in just 65 minutes to claim his first ATP Tour title. After a shaky start, when he dropped serve twice, Acasuso was never able to get back on terms. "It was the best week of my life," said Ferrer. Acasuso, who eliminated top seed and home favourite Andrei Pavel in the semi-finals, admitted he could not raise his game again. "I'm sorry for not playing at my highest level, but I felt very tired after the winning my semi-final," said the 19-year-old. |
