Kournikova injury woe
Anna Kournikova's miserable run of form continued
Kournikova needed treatment from the trainer
  First round results from Warsaw

Anna Kournikova must wait for her first career singles title after the Russian was forced to pull out of the WTA Warsaw Cup with injury.

Kournikova withdrew with leg and shoulder pain in the deciding set of her first-round match with compatriot Svetlana Kuznetsova.

At the time, Kuznetsova led 4-6 6-4 5-2 but the match had frequent breaks because of Kournikova's injuries.

Kournikova won the first set but then asked for a medical break because of cramps in her left leg.

When down 4-2 in the second set, Kournikova requested a second medical break for pain in her right shoulder.

Kuznetsova went on to take the set and with Kournikova struggling, she was always favourite to advance.
