Serena Williams set up a semi-final showdown with her sister thanks to a straight sets victory over Martina Hingis in the Nasdaq-100 Open Masters on Wednesday.

Williams disposed of third seed Hingis 6-4 6-0 to set up an eighth meeting with her sister Venus.

Hingis had been in superb form in the Miami tournament, dropping just four games on her way to the quarter-finals.

But she had no answer to Serena's sheer power. The eighth-seeded American blasted 34 winners, including four aces, to Hingis' four.

Hingis did break Williams' serve to claw back to 5-4 in the first set.

But Serena immediately broke back to grab the set and then went on to take the second set unopposed to win the match in just 59 minutes.

Hingis later pulled out of the doubles tournament, after injuring her foot.

Later on Wednesday, Jennifer Capriati had no problems overcoming Russian Tatiana Panova 6-2 6-0.

The number one seed was at her dominating best, breaking Panova to take the opening set and then sweeping through the next six games.

Fifth seed Seles made sure that both semifinals would be all-American affairs when she rallied to beat fourth seed Kim Clijsters of Belgium 4-6 6-3 6-3.

Wednesday's women's results:

Serena Williams (8) (US) bt Martina Hingis (3) (Swi) 6-4 6-0
Jennifer Capriati (1) (US) bt Tatiana Panova (Rus) 6-2 6-0
Monica Seles (5) (US) bt Kim Clijsters (4) (Bel) 4-6 6-3 6-3.
