Moya and Srebotnik win Mexico titles
Srebotnik celebrates after winning her title
It was the second title of Srebotnik's career
Carlos Moya won the Pegaso Mexican Open by beating Fernando Meligeni in two tie-breakers 7-6 (7/4) 7-6 (7/4).

Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia won the women's title on Saturday, defeating Paola Suarez of Argentina 6-7 (7/1) 6-4 6-2.

Moya controlled the match, but was unable to break Meligeni's powerful serve in the first set.

The pair both broke once in the second set, and Moya won both tie-breaks by seven points to four.

"He was really tough," Moya said. "This match was really hell, with an inhuman heat."

In the women's final, unseeded Srebotnik overcame the disappointment of losing in the final of last week's Colsanitas Cup.

"I've been looking for my second title for a long time and I'm very happy to have finally done it," she said.

Seventh seed Suarez, who defeated title-holder Amanda Coetzer and top seed Elena Dementieva on her way to the final, wilted in the sweltering heat and humidity of the Mexican resort.

In the second set, Srebotnik - semi-final conquerer of photographers' favourite Anna Kournikova - concentrated on her serve and opted to stay on the baseline and the moves paid off as she won it 6-4.
