Delgado back for Davis Cup

Delgado almost made the squad for Ecuador
World number 148 Jamie Delgado has been recalled to the Great Britain team for February's Davis Cup tie against Sweden.

His the only change by captain Roger Taylor for the World Group first round tie, which takes place at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham between 8-10 February.

Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski, the architects of Britain's 4-1 win in Ecuador last year, will again head their country's challenge.

Martin Lee is again included after winning singles rubbers in GB's last two ties.

Taylor said: "Tim and Greg had an excellent year for us in Davis Cup last year and it is really encouraging to see Martin now just two places off a top 100 place in the men's rankings.

"Jamie was very close to a call-up for the Ecuador tie and he deserves this opportunity although it is was a very difficult decision to decide on which player to select.

Jamie has been training hard and he is ranked fourth in the country in singles and doubles."

Tim Henman - Singles rankings: 11, (entry) 5 (Champions Race). Doubles: 301.

Greg Rusedski - Singles rankings: 30 (entry) 10 Champions Race.

Martin Lee - Singles rankings: 102 (entry) 111 (Champions Race); Doubles: 413.

Jamie Delgado - Singles ranking: 148 (entry); Doubles: 329.
