Linz win for Davenport
Lindsay Davenport
Davenport has beaten Dokic twice in a week
Lindsay Davenport successfully defended her Generali Ladies WTA tournament title, beating Jelena Dokic in straight sets in the final on Sunday.

Despite the 6-4 6-1 scoreline, the 25-year-old American was made to battle all the way in Austria for her seventh tournament win of the season.

Yugolsav Dokic ran the WTA tour third seed close in the first set, but could not maintain the intensity of play.

Davenport's win follows on from her success in the Swisscom Challenge last week where she beat Dokic to win the trophy for the third time.

Davenport, who wrapped up victory in just under an hour, said: "I do not think it was that easy.

"It was closer than the score suggests and lots of the games went to deuce."
