Collin and Childs take British titles
Hannah Collin on her way to victory

Hannah Collin took her second LTA National Championship singles title in brisk fashion on Saturday.

The 19-year-old from Surrey took just 61 minutes to complete a 6-2 6-1 win over Wales' Victoria Davies.

The former British junior number one needed just four games to make the break she needed against a player 10 years her senior.

"I've played Victoria a few times, and I like the way she plays," Collin said.

"I always felt comfortable and she never really overpowered me."

It's made my year winning this title again
Lee Childs

Meanwhile, Lee Childs retained his men's singles title with something to spare against teenager Alex Bogdanovic.

Childs never let Bogdanovic get into his stride, and ran out a comfortable winner 6-3 6-4.

Childs' more attacking game always had his 17-year-old opponent struggling.

Breaks came twice in the first set and Childs gained an invaluable break at the start of the second set from which Bogdanovic never really recovered.

The youngster had a chance in the eighth game of the second set when he led Childs 40-15 but squandered it.

"It's made my year winning this title again," Childs said. "Alex had several break points but my serving got me out of trouble."

Bogdanovic, given a wild card for this tournament, has one more year as a junior before joining the senior ranks.

"I was disappointed to lose but Lee played very well and wrong-footed me a lot," he said.
