Seles strolls into Shanghai final
Monica Seles on her way to beating Nicole Pratt earlier this year
Seles beat her next opponent in this year's US Open
Top seed Monica Seles barely needed to break sweat as she swept aside semi-final opponent Alicia Molik in her Shanghai Open semi-final.

The renowned baseline game of the former Wimbledon champion left Australia's Molik with no chance as Seles cruised home 6-1 6-0.

Seles will face another Australian on Sunday in the final of this $140,000 tournament.

Monica Seles

Her opponent will be unseeded Nicole Pratt, who beat Italian Rita Grande 6-3 6-4 in the other semi-final.

Grande took the game to Pratt - frequently rushing the net - but she damaged her own chances by making regular errors.

Seles is looking for her second tournament victory in a week after winning the Japan Open.

And she appears to be coming into form at just the right time.

"Since I came back in July, I've felt I've been playing some good tennis," Seles said.

"Really, the only disappointment was the US Open this year."

Now the ease of her victory over Molik will give Seles great confidence for what appears on paper to be a straightforward task in the final.

The American has already overcome Pratt this year - beating her 6-2 6-2 at the US Open.
