Henin and Mauresmo fall
Jelena Dokic
Dokic is through to the quarter finals
It was a day of shocks in the women's event at the Kremlin Cup as Amelie Mauresmo and Justine Henin were eliminated in the second round.

Mauresmo, the second seed, was beaten in three sets by Czech teenager Daja Bedanova 6-2 6-7 6-4.

Wimbledon finalist Henin was also beaten in three sets, 5-7 7-6 6-2, by Barbara Schett

The third seeded Belgian looked in good form in the opening set, but lost the second set tie-break, after failing to convert four match points, 8-6.

Henin completely lost her rhythm in the deciding set, going down 6-2.

The Austrian winner will play Russia's wild card entry Anastasia Myskina in the quarter-finals.

Myskina also caused an upset in beating Magdalena Maleeva, the seventh seed, 6-4 3-6 6-4.

Silvia Farina-Elia, the sixth seed, escaped another upset, when she won a third set tie-break to beat Uzbekistan's Iroda Tulyaganova 7-5 4-6 7-6.

The Italian will now play Bedanova.

Earlier in the day Jelena Dokic overcame the challenge of Galina Fokina, Anna Kournikova's conqueror, 6-4 6-3.

And Russia's Elena Dementieva overcame a shoulder injury, and thoughts of retiring, to beat America's Alexandra Stevenson 4-6 7-5 6-2.

The quarter-final draw is completed by Francesca Schiavone and the top seed, Martina Hingis.
