Capriati is after her third Major at the US Open
Jennifer Capriati moved into the third round of the Rogers AT&T Cup in Toronto after a hard-fought 5-7 7-5 6-2 victory over Daniela Hantuchova.

Capriati, searching for her third Major of the year at the US Open later this month, will play fellow American Meilen Tu in the next round.

The French and Australian Open champion was given a tough time by the hard-hitting Slovakian teenager, who won the first set and was 4-1 up in the second, breaking Capriati's serve twice.

But the world number three hit back when she crucially broke Hantuchova in the 12th game for the second set.

Henin: Back to winning ways
Along with the second set came her confidence and Capriati soon wrapped up the match in impressive style.

Second-seeded Justine Henin had an easier passage into the third round when she disposed of Japan's Ai Sugiyama 6-4 7-6.

The Belgian, playing her first match since losing to Venus Williams in this year's Wimbledon final, overhauled a 4-1 second-set deficit to force the tiebreaker.

"Until 4-1 I wasn't aggressive and wasn't my best, I didn't even go to the net," said Henin, ranked sixth in the world.

"After that, I was aggressive and wanted to take the match."

American Meghann Shaughnessy, seeded ninth in Toronto, and 15th seed Barbara Schett easily progressed into the next round.

Shaughnessy saw off Russian Lina Krasnoroutskaya 6-1 6-4 while Austrian Schett beat France's Anne-Gaelle Sidot 6-3 6-4.

Sixteenth seed Chanda Rubin also made it through with a 6-3 6-2 victory over Canadian Jana Nejedly.
