Stevenson thinks she can win at Wimbledon
Alexandra Stevenson warmed up for Wimbledon by defeating French Open quarter-finalist Lina Krasnoroutskaya, of Russia, 6-4 7-5 in the DFS Classic on Tuesday.

The US star rallied from a break down in the second set and will meet 15th seed, Anne-Gaelle Sidot, in the second round, after the Frenchwoman beat Ruxandra Dragomir Ilie, of Romania, 6-3 6-4.

Stevenson has been handed a wildcard for Wimbledon, the tournament in which she made history two years ago by becoming the first qualifier to reach the semi-finals.

I have very big goals and very big dreams
  Alexandra Stevenson

"I have wanted to win Wimbledon since I was little and it is a great tournament," Stevenson said after her win at Edgbaston.

"I know it is going to happen one day.

"After I reached the semi-finals, I grew up a bit and learned a lot and now I believe a lot more in myself.

And she fired a warning to those at the top of women's tennis now that she is beginning to find fitness after missing the entire clay-court season.

"I have been playing at 40% of my capability because of my injuries - so when I am back at 100%, people had better look out."

"I have very big goals and very big dreams," Stevenson said.

Top seed, Nathalie Tauziat, of France, breezed into the third round with a 6-4 6-1 victory over Slovakia's Ludmila Cervanova.

While US defending champion, Lisa Raymond, advanced following a 6-3 6-3 win over Italy's Rita Grande.
