Magdalena Maleeva
Maleeva won in three sets
Bulgaria's Magdalena Maleeva met with stiff resistance before beating Anne Kremer to win the Colortex Budapest Grand Prix women's claycourt tournament.

Maleeva eventually defeated her Luxembourg opponent 3-6 6-2 6-4 in a match that lasted for over two and a half hours.

"It is always a pleasure to be number one seed in a tournament and I am very proud of myself," said Maleeva.

Kremer, ranked 32nd in the world, was happy with her own performance, adding: "I think we played a good match and my congratulations go to Magdalena."
