Henman cruises to Copenhagen glory
![]() Henman tastes Copenhagen success
Copenhagen Open Final
T Henman (Gbr) bt A Vinciguerra (Swe) 6-3 6-4 Britain's Tim Henman picked up his first ATP Tour title of the year by winning the Copenhagen Open at the expense of Swede Andreas Vinciguerra. The Oxford star was rarely troubled by the 19-year-old and heaved a sigh of relief once he had seen off his opponent in little over an hour. Henman encountered few problems on taking the first set. The Briton won the opening game to love and then broke Vinciguerra's serve at the first time of asking. It took just over 10 minutes for the tournament's top seed to move into a 3-0 lead. Swedish bubble burst Vinciguerra fought back by holding his serve and then forced Henman to deuce before succumbing to the Briton's power. A love service game followed for Vinciguerra before he finally broke Henman. But the British number two broke back and proceeded to take the opening set. A similar pattern occured in the second set when Henman broke Vinciguerra in game three and then moved into a 3-1 lead. The Briton almost was almost in luck again in the seventh game but the Swede held firm. But Vinciguerra's bubble had already burst as Henman rallied to his first ATP Tour win of the year.
