Your tributes to Jack Walker
![]()
Jack Walker, the millionaire Blackburn Rovers owner who brought the good times back to Ewood Park, has died at the age of 71. How will you remember football's ultimate "super-fan"?
Walker lived out his childhood dream ploughing millions into the club he supported as a boy. Under Kenny Dalglish, supplemented by Walker's millions, the Lancashire club quickly became title challengers after winning promotion to the Premiership and then in 1995 the chairman's dream was realised as Rovers lifted the Championship trophy. Blackburn fell away after that effort but ahead of the new season the club were earmarked as one of the favourites to return to the top flight. Walker died of cancer at his home in Jersey. His fellow supporters at Ewood Park will miss him dearly. Send us your tributes to a man who loved his football and was much loved by football.
There was never any doudt that Uncle Jack was Rovers' number one fan. He will be missed but never forgotten. He took us to the top and it's time to get back there again. God bless Jack Walker.
Having met Jack, his presence and aura will live with me forever. The kindest man I have ever met. Rest in peace.
You made us what we are 'Uncle Jack'.
Thanks for everything Jack. You will always be remembered fo
Chris Bingham, England Thanks for making our dreams come true Jack.
Every struggling football club wished for a Jack Walker. It wasn't just the money. The man behind the money, his honesty, integrity, and love for football shone through. He made our dreams come true.

As a loyal Rovers supporter, I was devastated to hear about the death of one of the nicest people you are ever likely to come across. Everyone will miss him and he will never be replaced. Long may his memory live on. Rest in peace Jack.
Thank you uncle Jack, you are one man who gave so much pleasure to so many. You are a prince among men and will be sadly missed.

He was a marvellous tonic to all Blackburn fans. My family have been season ticket holders for many, many years and the changes that he made to the club when he took it over were amazing and much-needed. He will be sorely missed. Farewell, Uncle Jack.
As a loyal Blackburn Rovers fan, I can only thank Jack for what he has done. I have seen a championship won, and not many people can say that, and it was all made possible by a great man, Jack Walker. His memory will always stay with me.
Even as a Leeds fan I had so much respect for Jack Walker. He was a man who truly loved football and his football club. He will be a great loss to the English game and I truly hope Blackburn win promotion this season.
Jack Walker was a god. He transformed a lowly Division Two club into one of only three teams ever to win the Premiership.
Thanks Jack.

Jack Walker could not have been more passionate about his club, in fact he treated Ewood Park, the players and the staff, like his second home and family.
I am just glad that we achieved his dream by winning the Premier League whilst he was around to see it and I hope we can return to the top flight of English football, because that's what Jack wanted and that is what we must give him in return.
He will be sadly missed, and I only hope Blackburn Rovers produce an outstanding tribute in memory of an outstanding man!
Every football fan in the country should be grateful for what Uncle Jack has done, not just for the Rovers, but for giving hope to everyone that every team may have there own Jack Walker and may one day be champions. Thanks for everything and rest in peace.
What a fantastic guy. The man was a supporter with a war-chest, and like any right-minded football supporter would have done, he ploughed it straight into his beloved Rovers and won them the Premiership. Nor did he display complacency afterwards, continuing his role to the full right up till this very sad week. As a Newcastle supporter, I'm all too aware of how chairmen can become hated figures but Jack was a rarity in English football, a genuine fan amongst businessmen.
Jack Walker has been a true hero to football. A man who came from humble beginnings and worked hard and

In memory of the great man, who has had such an undoubtedly positive effect on so many people's lives we should build a permanent memorial and rename the stadium. He will be sadly missed.
Rovers can't thank Jack enough for his cash and commitment. Rovers will survive and see glory again - thanks to Jack.
Uncle Jack gave Rovers fans such a fantastic gift that no amount of words can repay what he gave us. He was a footballing gentleman.
