Can your team match Rushden's fast start?

Kettering join Kingstonian and Hednesford as the teams that go down.

As a Chester City supporter, like many others I thought Chester's stay in the Conference would be a short one but I feel that it could become a graveyard for the likes of my team. With only one promotion place up for grabs the conference will be full of ex-league clubs. My point is for clubs like mine to forget about standards being lower, take a leaf out of Rushden's book, buy quality players and couple that with hard graft and there just might be life outside the Conference.
Richard Carr, England

I agree with Andrew Foot's comment that there should be more promotion places, if so, then Yeovil should have gone up this season, and their manager wouldn't have resigned. We need to see more Conference sides coming up, like the rest of the leagues do. Good luck for next season Yeovil!
Rebecca, England

Dagenham & Redbridge have had a terrific season and in Garry Hill have a truly great manager. I believe we can win the Conference next season. Well done to Dag & Red for finishing third this season.
Lew, UK

When Rushden are promoted, the Chairman will give Brian Talbot a new contract and money to spend for an assault on the Division Three title. The facilities at Rushden are superb, only a year ago they spend £2million on a leisure complex for the players. The training facilities are brilliant and I hear the foundations are already in place for a second tier on top of Nene Park. Good Luck Rushden.
Ginge, England

Forest Green: We have survived. Rushden & Diamonds and Yeovil may have had the media focus - but we have had the drama. Now its the Trophy for us.
JD, Nailsworth

I think Yeovil can do it this season, but next season Nuneaton will win the league.
Andy Meads, England

I am a Diamonds follower, but I would like to say thank you to Yeovil for giving us a good battle this season
  Darren , Slough, England
Having watched the monetary rise of Rushden and Diamonds over the past few years I have to say that it would be a real shame if Yeovil did not get promotion this year. Yeovil are a club with tradition and long history, and for the sake of football, fully deserve their place in the football league next season.
Nigel, England

Being a Diamonds distant supporter from the North, I would be very pleased if they could win the Conference after all it is a hard league to get out of. Good luck R&D's.
Steve, Inverness

I personally think that Rushden and Diamonds deserve to go up as champions. They have put in so much effort over the past few years they deserve to do it. Next year though, be it Yeovil or Rushden in the Conference, Nuneaton Borough will blow the opposition away.
Chris, Nuneaton, England

I am a Diamonds follower, but I would like to say thank you to Yeovil for giving us a good battle this season. See you in Div 3 for the 2002-3 season! (unless we get promoted again!)
Darren , Slough, England

Good Luck to the Yeovil Boys on Saturday, being a suffering Poppies fan,to see Diamonds win the league would be hard, so it's about time somebody showed them you need more than money to win a league!
Poppies fan, Kettering, England

This title race has shown why there should be two promotion places in the Conference
  Andrew Foot, Yeovil, England
A lot has been said about the standard of the conference including from our manager at Chester City Graham Barrow, let me say this I've seen a lot of games this season and watched a pretty average Chester Side I can count the number of entertaining games on one hand. The standard is well below the top half of the Third Division and only Rushden would have the players and money to make any impact.
Paul Keogh, England

This title race has shown why there should be two promotion places in the Conference. Both Yeovil and Rushden deserve to be playing league football next season. Obviously, as a Yeovil fan, I really hope we go up, and we are playing some good football. The Rushden game is vital, but there are still some games after that which could also decide it.
Andrew Foot, Yeovil, England

Yeovil are a good side and have a great chance of going into the football league next year. Rushden and Dimonds are also a good side but I think that Yeovil have a better chance of wining the game on Monday and going onto take the title.
James, England

What a race! I follow Yeovil & thought they blew it. Now they are right back in it. Bring on the Diamonds. This is far better than the one horse races in the Premiership and First Division!
Mark Easton, UK

Three cheers for Hereford today and here's hoping that Doncaster Rovers can make Rushden look as ordinary next Monday as they made Yeovil look last Tuesday. Up the Rovers!
Chris, Yeovil, UK

Rushden deserve it after all these years
  Chris, UK
Personally I still think Rushden & D's will be the team to go up. They are the jewels of the Nationwide Conference. Today's 3-1 reversal against former league boys Hereford was a surprise, but the Diamonds deserve to take the prize. Each time I have seen them, they ooze class, and look like a second division team. I hope Yeovil will go up next season. They are in a big catchment area down there in Somerset, and have the potential to be quite a big club I think.
Big Bill Robinson, England

I think Rushden deserve it after all these years. Colin Addison only made matters worse at Huish Park. However, next year Scarborough will be going up. Our fantastic mix of youth players and experience will give us a good chance next season. Also talks of a possible takeover.
Chris, UK

I have to echo Peter Short's comment - this is one hell of a season. The Premiership may have style but the Conference has got all the drama - it's great!. Rushden and Yeovil's never say die attitude has me glued to the results every Saturday.

In reality Yeovil never had enough points ahead to cushion their FA campaign and they've paid - though not yet dearly. My fervent hope is that Yeovil go up - either way it's been a very entertaining season.
Eddie BT, Reading, England

Its always Yeovil and Rushden getting credit! What about Hereford? Surely getting through to the semi-finals for the FA Umbro trophy counts for something. I also believe we will make it into division three soon! come on you whites!!
Liz, England

Morecambe have struggled this year due to Jim Harvey being assistant manager for Northern Ireland. If this wasn't the case then you would see Morecambe challenging for promotion. Oh well next year boys!!
Thomas Dennison, England

Having managed to see the Rovers for the first time this season against Kettering I was very impressed with the Belle Vue pitch. What's this green stuff they have all over? The match itself wasn't bad either apart from the standard of finishing, especially from Doncaster.
Brian Lingard, England

Well we're into April again and the Yeovil v Rushden game is getting closer. As a Rushden fan April does not bring happy memories. Lets hope this year will be different!!! COME ON YOU WHITES
James, England
