This weekend it's the start of the indoor hockey leagues, when hockey players who are inclined to play the indoor game breathe a sigh of relief as they come in out of the rain! The outdoor leagues have finished for the winter and reconvene in February. Indoor hockey is a very different game and many players look to improve on their close skills and sharpness over the winter by playing in the leagues in Perth, Stirling and Dundee. Now, the interesting thing about indoor hockey in Scotland is that Dundonian clubs rule the roost! In the women's there is Grove and in the men's who would bet on Menzieshill not achieving their seventh consecutive Subway national indoor league title? Quite a record isn't it. There is such a history of hockey in the Dundee area, and particularly indoor - success breeds success! If you get the chance to pop in and watch a few games, it's terrific to watch - fast, exciting and there are goals galore! We will be talking to some of the top players at some point over the next few weeks on Sports Weekly on BBC Radio Scotland on Saturday morning from 0900
