Rangers' new strikeforce of Tore Andre Flo and Claudio Caniggia has already been earmarked as a special danger by Champions League opponents Fenerbahce.

The Turkish champions arrived at Glasgow Airport to a very public and vocal display of support from their fans but were keeping their own cards close to their chest.

Yet there seemed to be a genuine respect for the quality of the Rangers side they will face in the Champions League third qualifying tie on Wednesday.

And, asked where the biggest threat would come from Rangers, Fenerbahce coach Mustafa Denizili said: "Every player is dangerous, also Flo and Caniggia.

"It will be a very difficult game, but also for Rangers."

Rangers manager Dick Advocaat had described his side's chances of progressing as 50-50.

But Denizili said: "Maybe it is 51% about us."

Israeli midfielder Haim Revivo said: "We will face a very good team.

"Everybody can be dangerous to us, but it depends on us as we want to bring a good score back to Turkey."

Asked what he knew of Rangers, he said: "This year, they have changed a little bit, but it is going to be difficult as we have watched them on video.

"It is a very important game for us.

"Because, while Rangers were there last year, Fenerbahce has not been in the Champions League for a long time and many of us have not had that chance before."

There have been suggestions that Denizili was about to spring a tactical surprise at Ibrox.

Injury problems

But Revivo said: "If Rangers know us, there's no surprise.

"The trainer may change things, I do not know."

Rangers have several injury problems, with Italian Lorenzo Amoruso in a race for fitness.

But his central defensive partner, Craig Moore, insists that those problems will not be a factor as anyone who pulls on the Rangers jersey will give 110%.

"If we don't work hard enough, like on Wednesday when Maribor scored, we will be punished and although we changed that in the second half, against better teams we may not get that chance," the 25-year-old told Rangers' website.

"Being drawn at home, Wednesday is obviously a very important match.

"We've got to keep a clean sheet and look to make chances and score goals.

"I do believe that we need to go to Turkey in a good position, perhaps a 2-0 win would be a good result for us on Wednesday, but we will definitely need be at our best to do this.

"This time three years ago, against Parma, and we managed to win 2-0 at home and that proved to be enough over in Italy.

Third year in a row

"I don't think it is a disadvantage being at home first because we'll know exactly what we need to do when we go to Turkey, so I think that's a good thing if we get off to a good start.

"If Lorenzo comes back then that's a bonus, but with the importance of the game I don't think it really matters who plays.

"From their side, I know that Kennet Andersson is a big, strong lad, and they may look to be quite direct and use his height.

"If this is the case, as long as we have one defender challenging with plenty of cover, it's not too bad."

Should Rangers overcome Fenerbahce, they will progress through to the group stages for the third year in a row.
