Els returns to Loch Lomond

Ernie Els has confirmed he will defend the title he won at Loch Lomond last summer.
Els will line up in the new-look Scottish Open which replaces the Standard Life Loch Lomond from 12-15 July. The South African is currently world number three and second in the Volvo Order of Merit. He won last year's tournament at Loch Lomond with a final round of 68 for an 11 under-par total of 273. The event occupies the prestigious slot immediately prior to The Open on the European Tour. Also confirmed to play at Loch Lomond are New Zealander Michael Campbell and the USA's Rocco Mediate. The prize money available has been doubled to £2.2m, with the winner guaranteed £366,660.
