Phil Price was injured on his competitive debut for the Dragons
|
The Dragons have moved to address their prop problems by signing 21-year-old Blues fringe player Patrick Palmer. The tight-head, a Wales Under-20 cap, has experience with Cardiff and Pontypridd and joins until January. The Dragons have given a two-week trial to Pertemps Bees prop Ricky Davies and are also looking at further options. Ben Castle, Ali McKenzie, Nigel Hall and Phil Price are all long-term casualties and all could miss the next round of Heineken Cup matches. Price, 20, was forced off with a knee injury after 39 minutes of his debut, Friday's 22-14 Heineken Cup win over Glasgow.

"Again, we see another prop injured," Turner told BBC Sport Wales. "He's going to be out for quite a bit of time, so the alarm bells are ringing there." Ali McKenzie and Nigel Hall were both injured in the previous week's opening Heineken Cup defeat at Gloucester. Both went off before half time 19-17 defeat with McKenzie suffering shoulder damage, while Hall picked up a hand injury. Hall will be out until after Christmas, while McKenzie is struggling to make December's Heineken Cup double-header against Biarritz. Kiwi Ben Castle, who has yet to play for the Dragons, was already out with an upper arm injury that will keep him out until 2010.
