Shanklin is to take part in a charity sponsored walk from the Arms Park to the new stadium in the Leckwith area of Wales' capital on Saturday, 18 July.
But he is eagerly awaiting the day he steps out at the new ground for competitive action.
"We're very excited about the new stadium, it looks great and has all the facilities," said Shanklin.
"Every year you're looking to improve, we want to get to the final of Europe and win the Magners League.
"We're moving to a world-class stadium, all the players are really excited, there's a big buzz around."
