Glamorgan Wanderers flanker Sam Warburton, 18, will captain Wales at the International Rugby Board Under-19 World Championship in Belfast.
Wales play New Zealand in their opening game at Ravenhill on 5 April, and also face Samoa and Argentina in their pool.
"Sam has shown his capabilities in our recent matches and in training, he leads by example and has an incredible work rate," said coach Justin Burnell.
"The pool matches will be very tough, but this group's growing all the time."
