Former Wales prop Martyn Madden has targeted a switch to France after a second controversial exit from Llanelli Scarlets in three years.
Madden has enjoyed a stormy relationship with Llanelli
The 32-year-old made a shock return to Stradey Park last October, following an acrimonious split in 2003.
He says the club offered then withdrew a deal for next season, but the Scarlets deny this categorically.
"I've got three clubs in France who are very keen to sign me," five-cap Madden told the South Wales Evening Post.
"If the opportunity is right I will join one of them, it's the kind of challenge I need to go and play rugby in a new environment.
"I have got work to do - I've got to shed some more weight, but I'm ready to do that."
