Kevin Morgan hopes to banish his run of bad luck when he makes his Newport Gwent Dragons debut this Friday 13th.
The 27-year-old missed three months of last season after breaking his foot in training, and suffered a horrific knee ligament injury the previous year.
The former Celtic Warrior can make an early claim for the Dragons full-back spot in the pre-season match against a Gwent Premiership XV at Pandy Park.
He faces competition from Springbok record points scorer Percy Montgomery.
New Dragons coach Chris Anderson has named six internationals in the starting XV, with a further three on the replacements' bench.
Lock Ian Gough, who has been at Rodney Parade for three seasons, will captain the side.
Dragons: Kevin Morgan; Gareth Wyatt, Steve Winn, Jon Bryant, Ben Breeze; Craig Warlow, Bryan Shelbourne; Adam Black, James Richards, Rhys Thomas, Ian Gough (capt), Luke Charteris, Ross Beattie, Jamie Ringer, Richard Bryan.
Replacements: Kieran Crawford, Chris Anthony/Gethin Robinson, Peter Sidoli, Rhys Oakley,
Nathan Brew, Richard Payne, Rhodri Jones.
