Al Kellock was back in a Scotland jersey after injury
Edinburgh winger Lee Jones grabbed two tries on his debut as Scotland A beat USA Eagles 25-0 in Galashiels.
Jones was the standout of eight debutants in a Scotland team captained by Al Kellock that triumphed over a robust American side at Netherdale.
Kyle Traynor came off the bench to land a second-half try as Scotland took their chances in a scrappy encounter.
David Blair kicked two penalties and a conversion, with Duncan Weir also kicking two points.
Glasgow Warriors' Kellock continued his comeback from injury, but there was plenty of inexperience in the ranks as Jones, Rob Harley and Stuart McInally all won their first caps from the start.
Scotland head coach Nick Scrivener, who brought in Jack Cuthbert to his starting line-up after Joe Ansbro was called up to the senior team for the autumn Test against South Africa, also gave Steven Lawrie, Tom Ryder, David Denton, Henry Pyrgos and Weir their debuts off the bench.
