Canterbury supplies Scotland's home and away strips and training gear

The Scottish Rugby Union has expressed concern after kit supplier Canterbury Europe was forced into administration.

The SRU's deal with the company who supply kits for the Scotland team was worth £1m a year and was due to run until after the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

"The SRU is concerned to hear reports about Canterbury Europe Ltd," said an SRU spokesman.

"We are endeavouring to make immediate contact with the administrators KPMG to clarify the position."

Canterbury are also the kit supplier for Glasgow Warriors and football teams Motherwell and Portsmouth.

Last week, Diadora, which sponsors the Scotland football team, went into administration. That contract was also worth £1m per year.
