Warriors announce Firhill switch
Glasgow Warriors in action
Firhill will be the new home for Glasgow's pro rugby team
Glasgow Warriors will play the rest of their home ties this season at Partick Thistle's Firhill stadium.

SRU chief executive Gordon McKie explained the move away from Hughenden, saying: "Professional sport needs a professional stadium.

"I believe this will be better for our players, our fans, our sponsors, the media and better for rugby in Glasgow."

Thistle chairman Brown McMaster said: "We are delighted to welcome Glasgow Warriors to Firhill."

The new deal will see Warriors play at Firhill for their eight remaining home games with the agreement to be reviewed at the end of the season.

And Glasgow captain Jon Petrie added: "We've played there before a few years back and really enjoyed it.

"It's quite an enclosed stadium and the crowd are really close to the pitch so I'm sure the boys will still appreciate the same atmosphere and vocal support as we did at Hughenden."
