In his pomp former New Zealand winger Jonah Lomu weighed 19st 5lb and at 6ft 5in, he had the ideal build of a second row forward.

Now, as the rest of rugby union has caught up, players are bigger, faster and hit harder, no matter their position.

But there are still skills specific to each position so BBC Sport spoke to nine former internationals to explain how each of them differ.
