Johnson is due a touch of controversy, having kept out of trouble at club and international level of late.
The England captain is one of global rugby's more uncompromising figures, leading himself to earn the wrath of rugby officials worldwide in the process.
In January 2001 he was banned for 35 days after kneeing a player during a Premiership game.
He followed that up with a three-week suspension after punching Saracens hooker Robbie Russell, causing a massive media storm in the process.
Away from throwing his fists, Johnson is an essential part of the England national team.
National coach Clive Woodward regards him as the world's best second-row forward and there are few who would disagree.
Despite being 33, he remains a massive presence in the set-pieces and open play. Should Johnson shine - as is his custom - his team ought to follow suit.
