All the action from the Pool D match in Canberra.
80 mins: Italy hang on. The whistle blows with the ball going into touch off a knock-on. A fitting finish.

78 mins: Italian hooker Fabio Ongaro is shown a yellow card for pulling a maul down on halfway.
76 mins: Canada look dangerous passing the ball down the backline until Dave Lougheed knocks-on.
75 mins: Italy are camped on their own line and are warned by referee O'Brien about slowing the ball down. They are like a punch-drunk boxer hanging on for a points decision.
71 mins: Italy are in disarray and are threatening to throw the game away when they seemingly had it won. They concede another penalty but Barker misses the chance, hitting the upright.
69 mins: Fyffe sets off on a mazy run for glory, ignores support and is tackled on the 22. As is the norm in the match a knock-on follows and Canada lose all momentum.
67 mins: From the ridiculous to the sublime. A two-man miss pass in midfield frees Canada's Quentin Fyffe to finish off the best move of the match with a try in the corner. Barker again pushes a touchline attempt wide.
Italy 19-14 Canada
64 mins: Italy finally get away from their own line, but the game has plumbed new depths - it's a comedy of errors. Schoolboy knock-ons and poor passes destroy any momentum.

51 mins: Italy steal the line-out ball and stay on the front foot. They cannot find a way through partly due to Canada killing the ball which results in Di Girolamo going to the sin bin. Wakarua slots the points and Italy edge ahead again.
Italy 12-9 Canada
49 mins: Italy are playing the better rugby and 10 phases of possession so nearly ends in the first try of the match. Williams tackles Sergio Parisse into touch at the corner.

Italy 9-9 Canada
