80 (+6 mins): Gabriel Brezoianu kicks the ball through and centre Valentin Maftei gets the touchdown for Romania's second try in stoppage time. Iulian Andrei takes over the kicking duties and adds the two points.

80 (+2) mins: Ireland's record try-scorer Denis Hickie races through on the left to score his 22nd touchdown in 41 international appearances. O'Gara adds the two points with a simple conversion.
Ireland 45-10 Romania

70 mins: Tofan misses another penalty for Romania.

70 mins: Humphreys takes a knock on the head and is replaced at flyhalf by Ronan O'Gara.

64 mins: Ireland skipper Wood limps off and Shane Byrne comes on as replacement hooker.

60 mins: Victor Costello uses his power to score Ireland's fourth try and secure a bonus point. Humphreys lands the straightforward conversion.

53 mins: Denis Hickie, equalling the record number of appearances for an Irish winger, scores his 21st international try following a great run by full-back Girvan Dempsey. The difficult conversion by Humphreys is carried wide by the wind.

50 mins: Tofan sees a long-range drop-goal attempt come off an upright and Romania reclaim possession to pressurise the Irish line, winning a penalty in front of the posts which Tofan scores.
Ireland 26-10 Romania

49 mins: Tofan has an opportunity to boost Romania further but the flyhalf misses a penalty.

45 mins: Romania get their first points from a penalty try when Humphreys pushes Romeo Gontineac as he was about to touch down. Ionut Tofan adds the conversion.
Ireland 26-7 Romania

Romania introduce replacements prop Petrisor Toderasc and flanker Marius Nicolai for the second half.


40 (+7) mins: Romania apply pressure late in the first half after a break by scrum-half Lucian Sirbu but they are kept out by Ireland's defence.

40 (+3) mins: Romania are punished again allowing Humphreys to score his fourth penalty in first half stoppage time.

12 mins: Another offside infringement by Romania leads to Humphreys converting his second penalty for Ireland.

6 mins: Romania respond with a dangerous attack but are stopped short of the Irish line.

4 mins: The Romanians are caught offside giving flyhalf David Humphreys the opportunity to land a successful penalty from the 10-metre line.

Match kicks-off 0800 BST: Ireland skipper Keith Wood wins and toss and opts to play with the wind.

Disrupted by injuries before the tournament, Ireland welcome back powerful wing Shane Horgan as they aim to launch their World Cup campaign with a comfortable victory over Romania.
