Adam D'Arcy impressed against Leeds
|
Ulster have completed the signings of Australian Adam D'Arcy and USA Eagles player Paul Emerick, who is joining the province on a short-term contract. D'Arcy agreed a one-year deal after impressing in the recent friendly win over Leeds and started against the Ospreys at Ravenhill on Friday night. Emerick has signed for three months as a direct replacement for Andrew Trimble who is out until mid to end October. Emerick has been recruited to provide cover for the outside backs. Trimble sustained his injury whilst on tour with Ireland earlier this summer. Emerick has extensive experience of European rugby, having played for both Newport Gwent Dragons and Italian club side Parma and has been capped over 30 times for the USA Eagles, most recently in the summer's Churchill Cup campaign. He will link up with Ulster next week. Australian full-back D'Arcy had been on trial with the club and his addition completes Ulster's professional playing squad for 2010-11.
