Edinburgh came roaring back to seal a thrilling Magners League victory over Ospreys at Murrayfield. Stand-off Dan Biggar crossed the line and kicked with accuracy to give the visitors a 13-3 lead. But a Jim Thompson try and the boot of Greig Laidlaw saw Edinburgh go into the break only three points behind. A scrappy start to the second half was brought to life by a superb Tim Visser try and Laidlaw helped steer Edinburgh to an impressive win. Biggar landed two early penalties as Ospreys capitalised on a bright start at Murrayfield, before Laidlaw reduced the deficit with an accurate kick after the visitors were penalised. Ospreys scored the first try of the game when Richard Fussell offloaded to Biggar who crossed the line with ease. Biggar added a conversion to extend Ospreys's lead but Edinburgh rallied and were unlucky not to add a try through David Denton, who knocked-on after ploughing through a couple of tackles. Undeterred, the hosts continued to press and Laidlaw and Mike Blair combined to send Ben Cairns clear but the centre failed to capitalise on a promising opening. But Edinburgh fashioned a deserved try shortly before the break when Cairns fed Thompson who crossed the line in style. Laidlaw landed a superb conversion from an acute angle out on the right to narrow the gap to three points. Following a scrappy opening 10 minutes to the second half, Laidlaw levelled the game with another penalty after Ospreys were penalised for offside. Biggar missed a penalty before Esteban Lozada was shown the yellow card and Biggar made amends to help Ospreys retake the lead with a mammoth penalty straight through the posts. Again, though, Edinburgh rallied and Scott MacLeod fed Visser after the hosts launched a sweeping attack from right to left, and the Dutchman slalomed past Tommy Bowe and Rhys Webb for a superb try. Laidlaw did the business with the conversion to see Edinburgh ahead for the first time in the match. Ospreys tried in vain to make their numerical superiority count but the hosts extended their lead with a late Laidlaw penalty to secure victory.
