Justin Marshall is happy for the Ospreys to win ugly
|
Justin Marshall admitted it was not a vintage Ospreys performance in their 26-9 Heineken Cup win over Calvisano but said it was a job well done.
"The rainy conditions made it tough, particularly when when we were chasing the game," said the scrum-half.
"Calvisano knew we would be, we needed five points - a win plus four tries - out of the match to stay in the pool.
"We compounded things with a few errors but got there in the finish, got what we wanted even if it wasn't pretty."
Sale's 12-6 win over Stade Francais on Sunday leaves Pool 3 delicately poised.
The Parisians' losing bonus point put them a point ahead of Ospreys on 15, with Sale four behind the Welsh side on 10.
Ospreys host Stade in the next round in January, then face a tricky final match at Sale.
