Nowhere I'd rather be - Saints' Foden

Northampton and England full-back Ben Foden has endorsed the awards given to his club's director of rugby Jim Mallinder and team-mate Tom Wood.

Mallinder won director of rugby of the season and Wood player of the season at the Premiership Awards on Tuesday.

Foden told BBC Look East: "Tom has been superb. Hopefully there's great things still to come from him.

"Jim has got great man management and a good understanding of the game. He's helped me massively in my career."

England back-row forward Wood is currently ruled out with injury , with Calum Clark likely to deputise for the Premiership play-off semi-final against Leicester Tigers and the Heineken Cup final against Leinster.

Foden says the team are keen to make up for the disappointment of losing to Saracens 21-19 in last season's play-off semi-final at Franklin's Gardens.

"We got to the knock-out stages, got the home semi-final and let it slip away," said Foden.

"It's difficult to look back on that but it's something we've learnt from. We go in as underdogs and we can't go there and give it half our effort. We've got to test Leicester and see what they've got.

"I look around at the guys in our squad and know what we're capable of when we get it right."
