Day is targeting a victory in Saturday's derby against Leicester

Northampton Saints lock Christian Day insists they can hold onto their fourth place in the Guinness Premiership and secure a play-off place this season. "The hardest thing to do is get into the top four," the 26-year-old second row told BBC Radio Northampton. "Then you just have to maintain it and stay up there." Northampton currently sit in fourth place in the table three points ahead of Leicester Tigers, who they face on Saturday at Welford Road. "We need to keep picking up points on the road and winning our home games. If we do that we can still be there at the end of the season," the former Sale and Stade Francais man added. "Bruce [Reihana] says Welford Road is the most intimidating place to play, because Leicester are very proud of their home record just as we're very proud of ours. "But this is an opportunity for us to show how far we've come as a team since last year." Northampton have four of their first six games in the Premiership.
