Falcons bring in Sarries' Walker

Walker has played for Australia at Under-21 level

Newcastle Falcons have signed Saracens hooker Alex Walker on a two-year deal.

Walker, 25, made six appearances for the Premiership side last season, and will slot in as a replacement for the outgoing Andy Long.

The Sydney-born pivot has enjoyed spells with London Welsh and Otley before making his Sarries debut during the 2008-09 season.

His father is a former Mr Universe and he put on hold a degree in sports science to concentrate on rugby.
