Munster got their second bonus-point win in the Heineken Cup with the holders running in six tries against Bourgoin in Limerick.

Frank Sheahan powered over on the left flank for an early try with Ian Dowling getting the second on the half-hour and Barry Murphy quickly adding another.

A breakaway try by Florian Denos helped bring Bourgoin back to just 20-13 down.

But holders Munster powered to victory with tries by Donncha O'Callaghan, John Kelly and Andy Kyriacou.

It was a fine performance by Munster in their first home match in the competition since their final triumph over Biarritz in May.

Centre Trevor Halstead produced a man-of-the-match performance and was instrumental in several of their scores.

Bourgoin, without an away win in the competition for four years, held an early 6-5 thanks to Benjamin Boyet penalties on either side of Sheahan's touchdown.

But with the French side's scrum-half Mick Prendergast in the sin-bin, a beautifully timed offload from Kelly saw winger Dowling burst over on 31 minutes.

Then a midfield break from South African Halstead paved the way for Murphy's score, which O'Gara converted, four minutes before the break.

Good footwork enabled Denos to get his 50th-minute score on the counter.

A controlled drive by the Munster pack led to O'Callaghan running over for the bonus-clinching try on 55 minutes.

The red tide continued to surge forward and a fine supporting move led to Kelly landing the fifth try before England Under-21 international Kyriacou got in on the scoring act.

Late pressing by Bourgoin was rewarded with a late second try for Denos.
