Dan Parks was the outstanding performer as Glasgow Warriors broke their Magners League duck by thrashing Heineken Cup holders Munster.

The Scotland stand-off was back to his best as he gathered a 19-point haul to delight the Hughenden crowd.

Best of all was a dramatic interception touchdown that knocked the stuffing out of the European giants.

In another fine move Parks, who landed four penalties, ran and played a great chip for winger Thom Evans to score.

Glasgow coach Sean Lineen had to rejig his line-up minutes before kick-off when Argentine full-back Francisco Leonelli pulled out with a calf injury.

Colin Shaw came in only to be stretchered off midway through the first half.

Munster went behind after six minutes when Parks was handed a simple penalty chance.

But the Irishmen hit back strongly and it was no surprise when Jeremy Manning struck the equaliser in the 15th minute.

Parks edged his side back in front with a beautifully-executed penalty from 40m and then Manning replied in identical fashion.

Glasgow notched a superb try as Parks ran crossfield before sending a perfect chip towards the line for winger Evans to scoop up the loose ball and finish the move.

The angled conversion from Parks went wide but he soon landed his third penalty.

Penalty number four for Parks came after the break and then he latched on to a floated pass in the Munster midfield before scuttling 70m to complete the interception score.

He still had sufficient puff to bag the conversion to stretch the margin to 18 points and there was no way back for Munster, despite a late converted try by Tom O'Leary.
