The Scarlets have named businessman Granville Wise as their new funding director, following the departure of board member Tim Griffiths.
Wise, a Scarlets fan, told the region's website: "Give us time and we'll be up there with the best of them.
"The new stadium is phenomenal - it is as good as you can get. These are very exciting times for everyone involved with the region."
Griffiths left to concentrate on his extensive business interests.
In 2006 Griffiths invested £2m in the Scarlets while they waited for planning permission to redevelop Stradey Park for housing and move to their new home at Parc y Scarlets.
The BBC understands that Griffiths will not be pulling any money out of the region.
Scarlets chairman Huw Evans said: "We are grateful to Tim for his input during a challenging period.
"I know he has been very proud to be a director of this region and to see us finally move into our state-of-the-art new home in the last few weeks."
