The Scarlets are facing pre-season problems at hooker.
Wales international Matthew Rees will be out for at least two weeks because of keyhole surgery following an injury to his shoulder
Meanwhile Samoa international Mahonri Shwalger will be out for five to six weeks after injuring his neck, although a scan has shown it is not serious.
It leaves the Scarlets with youngster Ken Owens, who missed a large part of last season with a serious knee injury.
The Scarlets also say their activity in the summer transfer market is over after signing All Blacks Kees Meeuws and Simon Maling, Australia back row forward David Lyons, scrum halves Sililo Martens and Martin Roberts and centre Rob Higgitt.
