Scarlets 19 (0)
Fly-half Ceiron Thomas starred for the Scarlets with 14 points
Tries: C Thomas 2, G Evans.
Cons: C Thomas 2.
Connacht 10 (3)
Tries: J Muldoon.
Two tries from fly-half Ceiron Thomas and a third from Gavin Evans ensured that Llanelli Scarlets ended their Magners League campaign on a high note.
Visitors Connacht led after a lacklustre first half thanks to Mark McHugh's solitary penalty kick.
But the home side woke up after the break to run in those three tries, Thomas also converting two of those.
Connacht had the last say at Stradey Park but John Muldoon's 79th-minute try was no more than a consolation.
It was fitting that retiring prop John Davies was given a winning send-off on home turf.
The 38-year-old received a standing ovation as he led the Scarlets on to the field, and was cheered off again at the final whistle.
The crowd favourite is stepping down as a player to take up a coaching role with the Scarlets Academy.
"I have enjoyed my time immensely at Stradey Park, where I have been involved in some epic games," Davies said.
"I've been fortunate enough to be involved in some tremendous Heineken Cup campaigns and we achieved a lot as a club.
"We also won the Celtic League in our first season as a region."
Davies joined Llanelli from Richmond and played his first game against Pontypridd on 30 January, 1999.
He went on to play more than 250 games for the club and region, scoring 20 tries in the process, and became just the second player to amass 100 appearances for the Scarlets.
