Leicester Tigers back Johne Murphy is delighted to be back in action for the club after a two month lay-off following an operation on his knee.
The 23-year-old came off the bench in Saturday's win against London Irish after playing just 20 minutes in the pre-season game against Western Force.
Murphy told BBC Radio Leicester: "I felt quite sharp. There's a way to go before I'm back where I was last year.
"It's been a frustrating eight weeks since my knee operation."
Murphy, who signed a new deal in April, added: "It's nice to get back in there. I saw the surgeon yesterday for a routine check and he's very happy with everything so it's all going well."
The Ireland A international made his Leicester debut in the 2006/07 season and was named the Tigers player of the year in May.
