England boss will not rush Ellis

England manager Martin Johnson says it would be wrong to rush Harry Ellis back into the international set-up.

The Leicester scrum-half has only just returned to action after almost a year out with a serious knee injury.

And Johnson said Ellis and other injured stars will benefit from missing the summer tour to New Zealand.

"Harry's knee needs rehabilitation. If a guy is carrying injuries, then New Zealand is no place to be trying to play Test matches," Johnson said.
