Young Leeds Carnegie trio agree new contracts

Three of Leeds Carnegie's promising young players have agreed new deals.

Props Phil Swainston and Gareth Denman along with second row Tom Denton have all signed new two-year contracts.

Head Coach Neil Back said: "Leeds Carnegie has a strong tradition of giving young players the chance to play at the highest level.

"All three of these players are proud Yorkshiremen who love playing for their club. This is great news on the back of Marco Wentzel's new contract."

Denton, 23, is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury and has missed just two games all campaign.

Swainston, 20, made his debut in 2009 and has now made 41 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Denman, 20, is the most recent of the trio to break into the first-team squad having made his debut last season.

Carnegie have also confirmed that back row Kearnan Myall and centre Luther Burrell have both turned down new contracts.

Sale Sharks have announced they have signed Myall for next season on a two-year deal.
