Hendre Fourie deserves England recall - Neil Back

Leeds Carnegie head coach Neil Back thinks flanker Hendre Fourie should be given another chance to prove his worth at international level.

Fourie will fly home from the England tour of Australia after suffering a calf and ankle injury in the opening game against the Australian Barbarians.

"It is a shame because he worked so hard to get on the tour," Back said.

"Hopefully he'll get another chance in the autumn, for England's sake, with the World Cup now fast approaching."

He added: "They need a player like Hendre in their squad because of what he can offer you during a match, there are not many players who possess his skills set in world game.

"He went on this tour as the second-choice number seven just behind the captain Lewis Moody and I am sure he would have backed himself to make an impression on the management."
