Mark Cornwell will leave his role at Cinderford head coach after being promoted to assistant forwards coach at Premiership side Gloucester. Cornwell had combined being Gloucester academy boss with his Cinderford job. He told BBC Gloucestershire: "I'm glad that the club have looked at what I've been doing over the last two or three years this is the next step. "I enjoyed a lot of success with Cinderford and hope they continue where they stopped at the end of the season." In departing Dockham Road and committing all his time to Gloucester, Cornwell will assist Carl Hogg with the coaching of the first XV forwards and take on some first-team management duties, as well as continuing in his role as academy manager. Cornwell says the experience he has gained will stand him in good stead. "Over the last two or three years I've developed, gone forward and brought some ideas in of my own," he said. "I want to succeed and I want to be the best I can, obviously this is a great opportunity to be involved in a Premiership side, my home side, and I'm very excited about the position. "This next season is going to be a very difficult challenge, not just for me but for everybody."
