Scotland centre Nick De Luca, 26, has signed a new two-year contract extension with Edinburgh.

De Luca, capped 15 times, has scored eight tries in 40 Magners League appearances since joining Edinburgh in the summer of 2007.

"We've got a good group of lads and good coaches," said De Luca.

"But the main reason I'm staying is because I believe Edinburgh is a team moving forward and I want to be a part of that."

Edinburgh hammered Ospreys 33-17 on Sunday to move level on points with league leaders Leinster, although the Scots have played two more games.

"Over the past two seasons, I've been fortunate enough to have been involved in the majority of Edinburgh's games and we've finished fourth and then second in the Magners League," added Dumfries-born De Luca.

"Those were great achievements to have been a part of, but now we've got six games in order to better that and everyone is excited about what we can achieve."
