Ballymena's hopes of a top-four finish suffered a blow at Eaton Park when they went down to second-placed Dolphin.
The Braidmen took a long time to wake up and were 22-0 in arrears at the break with George Finn, Gary O'Keefe and Barry O'Mahony scoring tries.
Ballymena fought back strongly in the second half with Rob Johnston and Jamie Smyth touching down and Craig Woods converting the second try.
But Dolphin held out with fly-half Barry Keeshan contributing 10 points.
