Ryan Caldwell has been playing well for Ulster
|
Ulster second row Ryan Caldwell has been included in Ireland coach Declan Kidney's 34-man squad for the upcoming autumn international series.
Caldwell is joined in the panel by fellow Ulster players Andrew Trimble, Rory Best and Stephen Ferris, plus Tommy Bowe, who is now at Ospreys.
Prop Tom Court is one of the players to drop out of the reduced squad.
Malcolm O'Kelly also has not made the cut and the veteran lock's Ireland career could now be over.
O'Kelly has won 91 Irish caps.
Barry Murphy, Gavin Duffy, Bob Casey, Michael Ross and Roger Wilson join O'Kelly and Court in dropping out of the squad.
Kidney will announce his match 22 for the opening fixture against Canada at Thomond Park on Tuesday.
There are six uncapped players in total in the 34-man training squad - Caldwell, Ian Dowling, Cian Healy, Donncha Ryan, Keith Earls and Jonathan Sexton.
Canada are first up for Ireland at Thomond Park on 8 November.
The Irish then face New Zealand at Croke Park on 15 November before taking on Argentina seven days later at the Dublin venue.
